A NASCAR crew chief may not be the first person you would think of
when looking for a company spokesperson or motivational speaker. However,
you would be surprised at the skills of Tony Liberati. Tony doesn't
just know cars, he has also spent his career refining his skills in
the public speaking arena.
A former military man, Liberati learned his motivational and teamwork
skills early on as a member of the United States Marine Corps. His
human relations skills were tested under the heavy hand and discipline
of the Marines. "In the Marines, you say what you need to say
and don't take a long time to say it. There you have to be able to
make decisions quickly and communicate them to your platoon members."
In 2000, Liberati began his corporate speaking career making his first
appearance at General Electric (GE) Gas Turbines. In front of 3,000
of GE's emmployees, Liberati stressed the principles of safety in
the workplace. He drew analogies from his own racing experiences,
specifically outlining the safety precautions needed to perform a
pit stop. The program was a success and General Electric asked Liberati
to return in 2001 to once again drive home the message of safety in
the workplace. The "Safety Pit Crew Challenge" demonstration
will return to General Electric in 2002 with Tony Liberati emceeing
the event.
OK, so he can give direction and he has experience, but is he polished?
Yes. Liberati spent his nights in a 12-week Dale Carnegie course perfecting
his public speaking skills. The course concentrated on communicating
clearly, reducing the fear of speaking in front of a crowd, knowing
your audience and emphasizing your message. Liberati adopted the principles
of the Dale Carnegie course and applied his new learning to several
recent public speaking engagements.
Bristol-Myers Squibb, the parent company of Excedrin and primary sponsor
of the No. 92 NASCAR Busch Series team, recognized the crew chief's
charisma and appeal early on and invited Liberati to speak in front
of their sales staff and in a number of their company training programs.
Traveling to Florida, Illinois and New Jersey, Liberati presented
"The Seven Lessons of Motorsports". At each venue he explained
each of the seven lessons, how they applied to racing and how they
could apply to the business world. The clever format and Liberati's
speaking abilities kept the audience interested and involved.
Additionally, Liberati hones his public speaking skills each weekend
during the NASCAR Busch Series live television broadcasts aired on
NBC, FX, FOX or TNT. Radio is another mode of media in which Tony
Liberati is familiar. He is often asked to give updates on the team's
performance during live radio broadcasts by the Motor Racing Network
(MRN) and the Performance Racing Network (PRN). Liberati is a commentator
favorite for his candid responses and his willingness to speak with
the media.
Tony Liberati would be an asset to any company looking for an energetic,
smart and appealing spokesperson. His career experiences, presence
in NASCAR racing and public speaking abilities make him unique and
an audience favorite.

| "The GE
Gas Turbines facility in Greenville, S.C. promoted a NASCAR 'Race
to Safety' program in 2000 and 2001. Our focus was to help eliminate
injuries in the workplace by looking at the similarities in the safety
requirements of a race team and the work we do in manufacturing. The
Herzog Motorsports team led by Tony Liberati visited our site on two
occasions and was a tremendous success. Our employees are still talking
about the Herzog team led by Tony Liberati and how they would love
to have them back. Crew Chief, Tony Liberati had the employees cheering
as he led 3,000 employees and was masterful in his ability to excite
and motivate! The employees were involved in the 'Pit Crew Challenge'
and Tony was right in the thick of it all which added to the excitement
of the event. His candor and spontaneity got the employees involved
and added to the success in all the events. GE's motto is 'GE brings
good things to life' and Tony Liberati and his Herzog team brought
the employees to life during his visits." |
